Silom Road – formerly the trading district of Bangkok, Silom is now the banking centre and best place to pick up jewellery and precious gems.  Silom also has a vibrant and busy nightlife, due in part to the Patpong Night market which is popular amongst tourist for cheap clothes, DVD’s and souvenirs of their Bangkok holiday. Bars and restaurants also line the area for delicious food and drink.
